Singtel and their (lack of) Ethics

Recently, I saw my bill from Singtel and noticed that they charged me for “SMS plus” service.

What is this SMS plus service? I don’t remember signing up for it. I quickly check last month’s bill and realised that it was there too, but free. It must have been one of those sms-es that told me that I’ve been offered xyz service free for 3 months or 6 months… now since when did silence become an agreement to sign up for additional services?

Sure, it is a good way to increase your revenue from existing customers, but it is also a good way to show the values and the ethics of the company. I dropped them a complain on Sun via their website. Let’s see how long they take to respond.

Update
Singtel responded on 20 May. They would cancel the service and backdate the charge.
